You can't push the agent initially. After checking the agent into ePO you'll need to go grab the install.sh that is generated in the repo and use that to install the agent on each machine. After they are in ePO you will be able to upgrade the agent from ePO in the future...
Thanks, just one other thing if our PC's get maleware we all get emailed to say a pc has got maleware etc to test this I go to http://eicar.org/anti_virus_test_file.htm to use their test malware scripts, however if I run them on a Mac the Mac will flag that it has found a virus, but we don't get emailed and I notice that the ePo 4.5 server hasn't received any info from the Mac agent, any ideas?
Plus I can't see a way like the PC agent of sending events, and checking or enforcing policies. I liek the PC's agent on the desk as you can open it up and do this.
1) Are your email notifications setup only to send when the clean/delete fails? That would explain why you would get no notification if the threat has been handled.
2) There isn't currently an equivalent way to 'collect and send props' on Mac (see http://community.mcafee.com/thread/20664?tstart=30). The best way would probably be to send a wake-up call to the machines.
1.) We get emailed when a user does get mailware and whether it was cleaned or deleted so we can sense if we have a major problem or not, we only get an email maybe once a month.
