I used stinger and found the following problems. mcafee is not removing these and I can not get rid of them .

Stinger removes one and it comes right back, My mcafee is always up to date and will not remove this problem.

MBAM and Spy bot will not find it either.

This virus closed my firefox browser and redirects anything I try to run on IE. I am using google chrome now for net access.

Thank you for any help anyone can over.

This link will assist you in removal of the virus you have on your computerRequired Reading - Home User Assistance Malware Troubleshooting

You might also try to run Malwarebytes http://www.malwarebytes.org and SuperAntispyware http://www.superantispyware.com both programs are free and catches a lot of stuff. I suggest you download these to a usb stick on a non infected PC and rename the download and installation files to something you can easily remember as virus and malware are written to self protect itself so by virtue of renaming them the virus will not see them as a threat. After installation check for the latest updates and run the program and let it clean everything it finds and reboot the computer. Next step is to do the same for the other program.

Try booting into safe mode and perform these procedures. I see you have already tried MBAM and Spybot but maybe safe mode will get you cleaned up.

Let us know how this works for you.

          Good Luck

Check to see if any are detected in system restore area sometimes disabling that helps till all clean.

I disabled system restore before i started running virus scans,  This bug is still with me or part of it. I ran super antispyware. spybot, MBAM, and stinger. I also ran my mcafee virus protection. all of the above have current updates. looks like i get pieces of it here and there. I just got thru using microsoft virus removal it got most of something called Virus:W32/Alureon.H but said it could not get all. I went back to safe mode and ran all of the above anti virus again. nothing shows to be infected.

side note. This also seems to turn my volume off , I have soundblaster 24 on my system and it turns off wave which kills my volume. I never used that before to adjust volume, so no idea why its an issue now.

kind of stuck and out of ideas , i really dont want to wipe my drive.

              thanks for the tips guys.
