I finally have the USB device as "Native Managed" and it shows as "Initialized" but the Initialization process failed.
If I go to the McAfee Encrypted USB--Managed the following message appears:
Device Status: Not Issued
"You must have your device issued to you by an authorized issuance station before using this device."
What should I do next?
are they Gen 1 or Gen 2 devices?
How can I check that?
Anyway, ePO recognizes the devices, it even shows them as Native Managed, but when I insert the Encrypted USB into the ePO managed client, it starts the initialization and after 2 minutes it reports an error.
I`ve got McAfee Standart Encrypted USB Firmware 2.1 (Manage Device ->Hardware and Software information -> Product Versions) and when I try to personalize device on Epo managed pc (installed McAfee Encrypted USB Client 220.127.116.11 and McAfee Encrypted Usb Administrator 18.104.22.168) I see only standalone device personalization menu.
How can I setting up managed encrypted usb stick?
Generation 2 does not support central management through ePO, we had to exchange owers for generation 1.
I don't know how accurate is this document, as I mentioned before we purchased 4 zero-footprint bio metal 16 G that came with generation 2 we were not able to manage them through the ePO they can only be configured as standalones. Our vendor checked with McAfee and we were told version 2 does not support central management and we had to buy 4 generation 1 and they worked fine.
