Mcafee total protection - totally messed up my PC

I installed Mcafee total protection 2010 over a  month ago.  Since then it has completely shut down access to programs on my pc and the internet. I have tried to remove Mcafee but it won't even allow me to do that. I have a laptop and downloaded the link to uninstall Mcafee, saved it to a USB port and tried to uninstall Mcafee that way.  My PC was unable to identify the hardware.

Can anyone please help me and advise how I can uninstall Mcafee so that I can use my PC again.  Thanks

Go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall and reboot the computer. Then go to Useful Links at the top of this page and run the MCPR removal tool. MCPR will remove any remnants of the McAfee software that fail to remove under Add/Remove. You may need to save MCPR to a USB stick and then try to save it to the harddrive and then run it to complete the uninstall process.
