I'm using ePO 3.6.1 and have a couple windows 2008 servers with SP2 running VirusScan 8.7. During the weekly full system scan the CPU usage by process scan64.exe on these 2 servers is at nearly 100%.
Any suggestions on how to go about troubleshooting or resolving this? Exclusions? They are application servers.
You could try using Process Explorer from Microsoft Sysinternals to see which files Scan64.exe has open. You may be able to see a correlation between processor usage and a certain type (or types) of file. Also, there is a system utilization setting for the on-demand scan task. If it is set very high, try lowering it some. Of course, the scan will take longer if you lower it.
