    mcshield.exe is slowing down my pc

      I recently got hit with a virus that mcfee didn't get and now my sys is ******* me off. I get redirected every time I click a link and have to copy\paste it manually. My sys restore won't work. mcfee only shows 1 infection and it quarantines it but shouldn't I be able to delete it from the scan window instead of having to go win expl and do it myself? any help would be great.

          Hi,

          Can you please provide the following details;

          1.What is  the operating system of the computer ?
          2.Do you have any third party security software installed in the computer ?
          3. Click on "Start" and then click on "Run". Then Type in "Drivers".

          4. On the window that opens up try to open up the folder named "ETC". then look for the file "Hosts" and then right click on the file and open it with "NotePad".Check the bottom of the page just below from where it says 127.0.0.1 local host.If you have list of websites remove them all and ensure you have the details only up to 127.0.0.1 information about websites below this can be removed and then try to  update mcafee

          Please let me know the above information so that we could get this sorted .

          Thanks,
