You'll probably be best advised to contact Technical Support Chat by bypassing the MVT requirement.
On the Chat page click the links to open Virtual Technician - don't run it, then click the Chat and Email button on the left again.
I've moved this to our MVT area. Hopefully an expert can address this.
a) What is the version of MVT installed -
Navigate to the installed directory by default MVT is installed under "%programfiles%\McAfee\Supportability\MVT"
Right click on mvtapp.exe and select properties, check the File version tab for the MVT version.
b) If MVT is not installed, can you pl. specify the link you tried to download MVT
Did you try downloading MVT using this link http://mvt.mcafee.com/mvt/downloadindex.asp? This would give the below error

Pl. note this link is no longer valid and not to be used for downloading MVT. We are planning to remove this link.
Access MVT using this link: http://mvt.mcafee.com
Please confirm if this is the issue you faced, also install MVT from the new link and let me know if everything is OK.
1) Try downloading MVT again as one the link redirection issue has been fixed.
2) Incase you still have issues downloading MVT,
Please provide the following information of MSC10 and all other products installed. 'About' will have this information.
If possible, please attach screenshots of the error, about information.
This information will help me resolve your issue.
MVT 5.5.2 was released on Thursday May 21st. Can you pl. install and run MVT and confirm.
