I'm afraid not - the export function was only introduced in 4.5. You could upgrade the old server to 4.5, export the system tree and import it into the new 4.5 server, though?
Yes. That is a way to do it.
But, if I upgrade the old server, then its no point to build a new one.
I was hoping to build the new one, and then upgrade the old one after I test out a new system.
I didn't want the upgrade to go bad and then I am forced to push out a new server quickly.
I didn't know that export wasn't a feature on 3.6.1.
No problem - sorry it wasn't a more helpful answer
Open the reporting section- then go to queries- computers and run the "all connecting computers query". Click the top square beside the computername to select all and right click and copy.
open excel (or spreadsheet) and format all the cells in the sheet as text.(as the last contact time gets modified)
paste the results into excel.
then you can sort by the last contact time and then you will have those listed by when they last connected- you should be able to copy and import them into 4.5 then
edit:- this is only for computers - not for the tree structure.
