Did they suggest to uninstall software via Add/Remove programs and reboot, run the MCPR removal tool and reboot, then login to your McAfee account and download the software again? If so then try to contact Chat again and ask that your issue be escalated to a higher tier of support. Sometimes the first level of support may not get a customer the desired results as they may not be aware of certain issues.
Tom, I share Ken's problem. I currently run spyware doctor& Microsoft Security. I jsut reloaded McAfee onthe advice of a software specialist. thsi spring, when I removed McAfee Viruscan, my system speeded up .
How de we determine which software causes conflicts with McAfee?
I will have to try and do some research on Microsoft Security Essentials but my thought is if it already contains an antivirus then it will conflict with McAfee as you should only run one antivirus program.
