Since this has started happening, the On-Access Scanner has been disabled, along with Access Protection and Buffer Overflow Protection. I am also recieving an error in my event logs:

MCSCAN32 Engine Initialisation failed. Engine returned error : 8

I have tried to repair the installtion using the second check box, and this allowed the On-Access Scanner to become enable but only for about 1 mintue, then back to the same issue of it being disabled.

I've read through many things but have yet to have anything fix this. Any ideas?
