I had the same problem, and what worked for me was to turn off the machine and unplug the keyboard. I unplugged the machine to make sure it was truly 'off', then plug the power cord back in after a minute, but *don't* plug the keyboard in yet. Turn on the computer, and when it gets to the login screen plug in the keyboard and see if you can log in.
