It is possible that this issue was resolved in later versions of EEPC. I would try 5.2.4, as a troubleshooting test.
On the other hand, what USB settings do you have available to you in BIOS?
Nothing special in the BIOS only an option to turn the USB support on or off. The problem isn't with the USB keyboard, it's with the laptop's keyboard. When the laptop is restarted I can't input anything on the laptop kb. If I then plug a usb KB in, I can logon using the usb kb.
Oh! and once past the McAfee login screen I can unplug the usb kb & use the laptop kb without any issue. It appears that the encryption software disables the laptop kb!
The strange thing is that an older U500 works perfectly!
I would then try EEPC 5.2.4.
Try "always enable pre-usb support" on the device general settings in the management console.
