          Hi ,

          Could you please provide us with the following information ;

          Open security center and let me know the versions of all the products ?
          How is the computer currently connected to the internet ?
          Do we have any other security software in the computer ?

          Regards,
          Dinesh K

            I have the same problem. When I try to trust another machine it says 'temporarily unavailable'.  I have the virt tech o/p and I distilled the version info (removed the registry key and file stuff - you can have it if you want) and will paste that after giving you an environmental analysis.

            Both machines have mcafee total protection - I have 6 licenses.

            I have XPPRO SP3 (upgraded to sp3 on 5/4/10) on the machine I cannot trust (call it "xp1").

            On the machine that I am trying to have trust xp1 (call it "xp2") I am running XPPRO sp3 which I upgraded from w2k on 6/24/10. As part of that I had to do a new install of McAfee which is up and running ok (but for the trust problem).

            To summarize: both machines are running xp pro sp3. xp1 is able to see drives on xp2 and read/write to them but xp2 is unable to trust xp1 (and consequently cannot see any drives on that machine).  xp2 sees xp1 in its network map but cannot trust it.  I also cannot ping xp1 from xp2.

            I was able, in the past, until 6/9/10 able to read/write to mapped drives on each machine from the other machine.   On 6/10/10 I found I was unable to get to xp1 drives from xp2 and haven't since even after upgrading w2k to xppro on 6/24 and doing an uninstall and re-install of mcafee.

            (on a side note this xp1 machine when viewing the network say that the other machine has an older version of mcafee's software - which is not correct - xp2's install on 6/24/10 has later versions of every mcafee total protection component.

            xp1 runs a core2 duo processor @2400 ghz w/4 gb ddr2 800 ram

            xp2 runs a pentium4 processor  @2400 ghz w/3 gb ddr 333 ram

            I have a cable modem and linksys router for internet connectivity.

            Here's an edited version of the output of the mcafee virtual tech.
