This is one thing that I cannot find explained in the EPO 4.5 docs or the online tutorials (which are horrible, BTW. The docs just say basically "edit the settings as necessary" and the tutorial says basically "make any changes necessary" which is completely unhelpful).
In the client task for performing a DAT update, there's a tab called: 3. Schedule
In there, the second item is Schedule Type. That one is fairly obvious (I chose Daily)
But the 2nd item from the bottom is "Schedule".
That seems redundant but apparently if not set right, it'll mess up the task.
One would think if you chose: Daily, at 12:15 a.m., and run missed task by 5 minutes, that would basically update the PC at "login" every morning, 5 minutes after the PC is started up (the user may or may not have logged in, but it's as close to "at logon" that EPO has).
However, the Schedule (not schedule type) has options as:
once (so how does "once" mesh with "daily"???)
Repeat between (and then there's a time frame and every X hours)
Repeat starting at (and then there's a time frame and every X hours)
So if I wanted this task to update the workstations when they are turned on in the morning, why does it not work if you set the schedule to Daily, run missed task by 5 minutes, and schedule of: once at 12:15 a.m. With the last item being: Daily - every 1 days.
But it will work if you set it repeat between and every X hours (doesn't that mean it would run the task every X hours which I don't want it to do?) And if you put once and every 24 hours then it won't work either, as the last item is "daily" every 1 days
