How do I get a persistent Anti-Virus SBC Yahoo off?

I have been trying to download McAfee for the past two days and it keeps saying to remove incompatible software "Anti-virus SBC Yahoo! Online Protection" .  I believe this is an old CA program from what I've read.  They spent about 2 hours on my computer remotely this morning and assure me there is nothing left.  I've restarted the program and still I can't download McAfee.  My computer is currently unprotected!!f  Please help.  Thanks Alex

If there is nothing showing in Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs (XP) or Programs/Uninstall a Program (Vista/Windows 7) to uninstall it there, then try the following:

Go to Start/Run and enter regedit hit the Enter key.
          Go to:
          HKEY  LOCAL MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS/CURRENTVERSION/UNINSTALL

Look for  any entries in that key that pertain to CA, SBC or whatever the anti-virus is/was called, and delete them. be very  careful to only delete those entries and none of the others.

Other than  that contact Technical Support Chat via the Useful Links above.
