The detection Generic PUP.x is generally given for files which are classified as Potentially Unwanted Programs.
Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) are not virus/trojan because they do not self replicate. They could be commercial products or any piece of software which a reasonably security-or privacy-minded computer user may want to be informed of.

We call a file or a program as Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) because we think that the program/file could be used for malicious purposes as well, although it is not necessary always and could be a legitimate application/program. You could go ahead and delete the file manually which is getting detected as Generic PUP.x if you are not using that application/program.
