As you stated "one of our users" I moved this provisionally to General Malware Discussion > Corporate User Assistance.
The "System Volume Information" is a clue that it is caught in the System Restore folder which is protected by Windows, thereby making it difficult to clean by normal methods.
Simply disable System Restore on that machine and it will be gone.
Once satisfied that it is gone then you can re-enable System Restore.
If you need help with System Restore I would need to know what operating system is being used.
Marking as 'assumed answered' due to age of thread. If you need any further assistance please don't hesitate to let us know.
Good day... I am hoping someone can help me. I am having the same issue with backdoor_edy.b keeps coming back. McAfee keeps detecting it (12 times so far) and removing it. However, everytime I start the puter up, it returns. My operating system is Windows XP.
I have turned off System Restore. I have downloaded the Engine and DAT file as suggested. It downloaded ok, but when I run it, error message says
"Unable to find any qualifying McAfee products".
My McAfee support and licence are good for another 130+ days.
Please help !!
