I have encrypted a third party USB stick with TrueCrypt. I plug the USB stick into my laptop that has Files and Folders with EERM installed. The drive is unavailable and EERM does not initialize to protect the encrypted stick. I mount the encrypted stick with the TrueCrypt utility and can write to the media which is recognized as a local drive. This is against our policy of EERM protect or make the media read only. Is this the intended behavior of EERM? Will this happen if I use a encrypted USB stick that has a built-in utility (excluding McAfee's encrypted USBs) ? It is true the contents on the TrueCrypt drive will be encrypted and protected but it will not be managed by our company through EERM.
