Please follow the instructions given below :-
1} Disable the pop up Blocker
2} Set the Privacy and Security settings to MEDIUM.
3} Delete all internet history. ( Offline, Cookies, etc )
4} Open up a fresh internet explorer window. Log on to www.mcafeeasap.com and then proceed with the installation.
Please revert for any more information/clarification.
Hi, I've the same problem but also following your suggestion there are no way to get the connection with the download center.
I've also removed (and then installed) IE8 without any improvement.
Please try and check if yoru IE is working fine.
There is a utility called FIX IE . Check out this link. Very useful !
Run that utility it will re register your .dll files and then try installing and tell me if that helped.
Well, the guys at McAfee finally got back to me. Apparently patch 5 came out for Total Protection Services and that solved my problem. I did have to do a manual silent install to get it running though.

I have exactly the same problem, got guys from mcafee support trying to install it with remote support and no success.

I tried several things including uninstalling, restarting and reinstalling the McAfee Total Protection but to no avail.

i have given up on McAfee ... support from them has accessed my computer, installaed several "preinstalations, fixes, etc ..." none worked. concerning patch 5 ... I was given the info that it was in quality testing ... until now .. sorry .. very bad support from McAfee , and the product dosnt work
