1. If someone is using a notebook, and he takes it home where he can't log on to our domain, will this task still run at 02.00 am on his computer?
Yes (assuming that the machine is switched on at 02:00 )
2. Where can we see the log of this computer if the task was or wasn't run, if he will be out from our domain? Will we recieve this information on epolicy orchestrator the next time when the user will log on to our domain?
As long as the "ODS scan started" and "ODS scan stopped" events are configured to be sent to the ePO server, then yes, the next time the machine connects to the ePO server these events will be uploaded. Note that the actual scan log is only available on the local machine - it does not get sent to the ePO server.
Thank u very much for a very quick response. I have 1 more question: Do we need to configure this task with any extra settings that ODS scan started/stopped appears on our epolicy or does the task already do that itself?
with best regards.
You don't need to configure the task, but you may need to configure the event filter (under Server Settings / Event Filter.) I'm not sure if the relevant events are enabled by default: you are interested in event IDs 1202 and 1203, which are ODS started and ODS stopped respectively.
You're da man. I have edited that filter and we will see how the thing will go next weekend when the task will be run for the first time.
Have a nice day.
With best regards,
