    Re: dlp & windows 7

Currently no version of DLP is supported on Windows 7. DLP 9.0 which is tentatively scheduled to be released in 3-4 weeks will support Windows 7.  That said DLP 3.0 does seem to function properly on windows 7.

Here is the info from the readme on the latest released version of DLP (version 3.0):

    Supported systems

The following operating system versions are supported by the DLP 3.0 agent:
    • Windows 2000 Professional SP4 or later 32-bit
NOTE:Windows 2000 SP4 must be fully patched. In particular, it must have MSXML parser 3. (Later versions of MSXML are not currently supported for Windows 2000 Professional.) This is required for policy distribution to the DLP agent. It is available from Microsoft at this link.. BZ 459990
    • Windows XP Professional SP1 or later 32-bit
    • Windows Vista and Vista SP1 (Enterprise and Business editions) 32-bit
The following operating system versions are supported by the DLP 3.0 policy manager console:
    • Windows XP Professional SP1 or later 32-bit
    • Windows Vista and Vista SP1 (Enterprise and Business editions) 32-bit
    • Windows Server 2003 family 32-bit

Due to the McAfee Host Data Loss Prevention software version 3.0 requirement for .NET 3.5, Windows 2000 server is not supported.

    Tested systems

Disclaimer: Tested systems are not officially supported, but have passed a basic level of testing. Full support for these systems may require additional patches or a new version of the product. Full support will be announced by McAfee at a later date.

The following operating system versions were tested with the DLP 3.0 agent:
    • Windows 7
The following operating system versions were tested with the DLP 3.0 policy manager console:
    • Windows Server 2008 family 32-bit

The release notes for DLP state just Windows 7 so i would say that's all versions. As at the core all those versions are basically the same.

Also Windows 7 is supported in DLP 9.2 patch2

Odd..wikipedia says there's no such thing as Windows 7 Business edition

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7_editions

Unless by Business they mean the VL builds or they've got Professional and Business mixed up.
