    McAfeeDataBackup.exe - Common Language Runtime Error

      Running a new install of Windows XP Proferssional w/SP3 and all updates installed (Intel dual-core, 3GB RAM, NVIDIA Chipset).

       

      After logging in, and before McAfee Security Centre launches, the following error appears (see screen capture file attached as "McAfee_Error.jpg"):

       

      Common Language Runtime Debugging Services

       

      • Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
      • Process id=0x74c (1868), Thread id=0x750 (1872)

       

      Tried updating the software... this doesn't solve the issue.

      Installed and ran the "Virtual Technician".... no problems were found.

       

      Anyone else encountered this issue?

       

      Any ideas as to a fix?

          Hi CDJOHNNY,

           

          If McAfee Data Backup is opened from within the SecurityCenter window link Back up and Restore files, you may see a RunTime Error!, and Data Backup will not open.

          Solution

          1. Right-click the M icon in your system tray.
          2. Select Quick Links.
          3. Select Back up and Restore Files.

          You will no longer receive errors when opening from the menu.
          Kindly revert back if you have any issues on the same .
