I've had similar issues but was able to resolve them by doing an uninstall/reinstall of the Virusscan Enterprise on the problem machine from the EPO console.
Make sure you have MA 4.0P3 or later installed into ePO, with the MA4.0P3 ePO extension also installed.
Also make sure you have VSE 8.7i Patch 2 checked in.
With this combination, all should report correctly.
I had this sort of issue with earlier versions of MA 4.0.
Oh, and make sure you have ePO 4.0 fully patched too (though it shouldn't affect this issue).
