Do we receive any errors while opening those attachments?
Also provide some additional information like ,
What is the file extension which is not opening up , (For eg; pdf, .exe)
What is the type of internet connection ? (Cable/ wireless)
And also so mention how you are trying to open you email attachments..
Are you using any email clients like Outlook express, Windows Mail , thunderbird ... ?
No error messages received. Extension is "doc." Internet connection is broadband, through AT&T U-verse. No problems prior to this morning. Thanks.

Ok so you are using Yahoo Mail ( Webmail account ) .. But not any client like Outlook or Windows Mail..
McAfee would not configure any of your webmail account but It could be that the web browser you are using might have blocked it..
I just want to know, When you click on the attachment in your inbox what happens ?
Not using any client like Outlook or Windows Mail.
When I click on the attachment, this is what happens. New screen opens and states no viruses detected. Click on download attachment. New screen opens and I click on open. New screen opens and says getting file information, but the diagram showing a file going from the globe to the folder never stops moving and the attachment never opens. Thanks.
Norton by default has a mail scanner, which might be the cause of the error.
I would suggest you to try opening those mails from a different system which doesn’t have Norton.
