Moved to Malware Discussions. Try rebooting to "Safe Mode with Networking" which will give you the internet while in Safe Mode. To do that tap F8 repeatedly while booting up, then download, install and update the free version of THIS UTILITY. Run it in that mode and let it remove anything it finds, reboot when asked. It should hopefully do the trick.
Once OK make sure that you are totally up to date with all updates, critical and non-critical.
Hello- thank you for your response- I tried the instructions you provided- (safe mode w/networking) and still get the blue screen-is there any other way to boot the computer safely?
Not good. You either could format and reinstall the system or, if you have access to a clean machine that can burn CDRW media...try one of our Moderators Secured2k's BootCD.
