McAfee relies on an up to date Internet Explorer with settings at default, whether or not its the default browser.
The above symptoms were caused by various beta versions of IE8 so if you have them please uninstall, then reload the final version from Microsoft.
It also could be IE settings so try the following: (assuming IE8, if not then it's time you upgraded)
Go to IE Tools/Internet Options/Advanced and click the Reset button.
OK any prompts that appear and then click Apply and OK.
Close and reopen IE and go to Tools/Manage Add-ons and re-enable the add-ons.

Never had IE8 (Firefox), but I do now!
I have the exact same thing, the Security Center will not open and also the 'Help' button doesn't work, but I repeatedly get warnings that my computer is unprotected.
I do however use mozilla firefox... Any ideas?
I suggest you both contact Technical Support Chat. They can go into the machines toi check what's wrong and escalate the issue if necessary.
Alter the country if necessary near the top right.
