Usual fix is to uninstall and reinstall via the removal tool included in my signature.
I've had this exact same problem. Fixed it with the help of a McAfee chat agent online by uninstalling and re-installing. But, my question is why does this happen? Is it something I've done? How can I avoid it happening again?
Ok i have never had this issue the reason why is a bit elusive. the usual reason is the PC date is out of wack or some files have been corrupted during the original install or by Malware. that is why we also recommend as well as a Virusscan scan you run scan with some reputable free scanners for malware.
The 2 we mostly suggest are
Well, I thought it was fixed, but last night the dreaded verify your subscription message started again!
I've run the ESET scanner, Malwarebytes, Superantispyware as suggested and scaned with adaware. All come back clean??
What do I do now? Do I have to unistall and reinstall again?? Am I supposed to run the above once I've removed McAfee but before reinstalling? Any help would be appreciated as I'm going round and round in circles not really knowing what else to do. Help!! Please
Wait help should be coming soon .
Thanks, Peacekeeper. That gives me a crumb of comfort. In the meantime, am I actually protected while I'm seeing this mesage anyway?
Now that is a great question. I would assume yes but will ask asap.
I am PMing you a comment
Now something else..
I thought I would try the McAfee Technician Tool. It downloaded OK the first time I had this problem with contant verification wanings, but it never found any problems so I deleted it.
Now, when I try to download it again installation fails with the following message
Error code 1316 - A network error occurred while attempting to read from file : C\users\john\appdata\local\microsoft\windows\temporary internet files\content\IE5\CZPQ5VDX\mvt_en-us(1).msi
What in heavens name does that mean?? I'm really clueless here and I'm still getting this Verify Subscription warning
On Startup I get a warning about the firewall being disabled, I can fix that with the fix button, and then about 10 mins later, all the verify subscripton warnings start to appear. Every time I click on verify subscription, I get the OK messages, but the Main Screen of security centre refuses to chang back to green. I'm really worried that I'm open to infection here and am quickly becoming disillusioned with McAfee. Thank Goodness for this forum and it's helpful members.
I had a similar problem Sunday and then a dll error message kept appearing when turning on my PC, McAfee scan found nothing so I tried Malwarebytes and they found 31 problem areas. Most were adware spying issues but they also found a worm and a Vundo Trojan that McAfee's scan missed. The problems were quarantined or deleted and I've been ok the last three days.
You can download a free version at http://www.malwarebytes.org/ to try to fix your problem.
