Double-click the taskbar icon to open Security Center
Click Advanced Menu (bottom left)
Click Configure (left)
Click Computer & Files (top left)
You can disable VirusScan in the right-hand pane and tell it for how long to stay that way.
Click Internet & Network (top left)

I did all that but there are still processes running that need to be turned off to run some of the deep cleaning A-V/Malware programs and reporting programs such as ComboFix.
Anyone else know how to turn off ALL processes temporarily?
Short of uninstalling completely, no, but I will ask.
Hi rammer47, Just go into Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services and stop all McAfee services. When your finished with the deep cleaning A-V/Malware programs reboot your computer and they should all be turned back on. happy
Sorry I didn't explain that...most people I've told to do that still want to know how to get rid of any visible trace, so the only answer to them is to uninstall.
I think he just wants to disable McAfee to run other A/V software scans. happy
Fair enough, hope it helps.
Exactly what I needed to do.
Did it work OK?
