Just provide the details as bellow,
Operating System on you computer:- Windows Vista/Windows XP
Internet Connection you use:- Cabel/wireless/dial-up/dsl
Internet Explorer Version:- 7/8/beta
(you can check the version on Internet Explorer Window,Help-->About Internet Explorer)
McAfee was not able to communicate with the server and it was not able to get its periodical updates, that triggered McAfee Unprotected.
I am using Windows XP
I was finally able to run McAfee Virtual Technician tonight (it would never run before). My session ID is: 18730446

First check that your system clock is accurate, both time and timezone-wise.
Then check for Windows Updates both critical and non-critical and apply them.
If you are still using IE6 or even 7 please upgrade to IE8 a.s.a.p. Help here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx
McAfee relies on an up-to-date IE set at its default settings to function properly, whether or not you use IE.
Meanwhile I will get someone to look at that Virtual Technician log.
As a last resort you can try the following which usually fixes things:
1. Uninstall all McAfee programs through "Add or Remove Programs" in Windows "Control Panel".
2. Use the MCPR tool, see this article: How to remove supported McAfee consumer products using the McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR.exe). This will remove all McAfee remnants from your computer. (you must have Windows Vista, XP or 2000 SP4 to use this tool)
3. Launch Windows Explorer and delete all McAfee files in "Program Files" but especially in "C:\Document and Settings\<user>\Application Data" and "C:\Document and Settings\All Users\Application Data". You have to set Windows Explorer to show all hidden files and folders (Tools > Folder Options > View tab). Just delete the McAfee folders even if they are empty in all the "Application Data" folders. Can be more than one!
In Vista: C:\Program Files, C:\ProgramData and C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming
If you can't find these files don't worry. It just means that MCPR has done its job.
4. Reboot and redownload/reinstall your McAfee products directly from your account at the McAfee web site.
If you are McAfee direct customer, go to https://home.mcafee.com/Secure/Protected/Login.aspx and log in to download your McAfee products.
If you received your McAfee products from your service provider, please use the list below to download your software.
Comcast users should go to http://security.comcast.net/ and log in to download your software.
DELL users should go to https://us.mcafee.com/root/login.asp?affid=105 and log in to download your software.
Gateway users should go to https://us.mcafee.com/root/login.asp?affid=370 and log in to download your software.
eMachines users should go to https://us.mcafee.com/root/login.asp?affid=365 and log in to download your software.
MSN users should go to http://membercenter.msn.com/ and log in to download your software.
AOL users should go to http://daol.aol.com/security/ and log in to download your software.
Footnote: Windows 7 isn't officially supported by the current product versions but is by the beta versions, see BETA.
However, I think perhaps you were referring to the browser version.

Download the tool from Link below and save it on your desktop.
Double-click MSCPRXFIX.exe on your Desktop.
After running the tool, restart the computer.
To check for updates, right-click the M icon in the system tray and select Updates.
This would fix the issue i guess.....

Already used the two spyware tools. they DID clean up a lot...
Upgraded to IE 8
Clock is fine.
I did the McAfee uninstall and reinstalled from their website previously - but I'll try it again and report. I did not go in and manually remove the items that you listed above - but I'll do that and report the findings as well.
It might help to run those tools again, just in case. Good luck.
