    McAfee always crashes in Vista

      Hi all,

this has probably been posted before so apologies.
I have McAfee security centre on Windows Vista business (I think its 32 bit). I have been unable to run a virus scan (automatic and manual) since last December. Everytime I run it the scan will get to around 65% complete and then completely freeze. I have read that others get blue screen but I do not, the screen just freezes. And then the only option I have is to do a hard boot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
      Thanks
      Mark

          Hi,

Please verify and perform the following steps,

Did you made any recent change to computer like system restore or installation of any application/software?
Did you receive any kind of alert/advertisements or pop-ups in the computer?
Check the DAT version and Engine version of McAfee Virus scan (Open Security center-click on about in the Right hand bottom panel-check DAT version for McAfee Virus scan)?

          Steps:

If you have any other security program please uninstall it from the computer
Run the McAfee virtual technician MVT and post the session ID http://mvt.mcafee.com/mvt/default.asp
