    McAfee prohibiting game installation

      I'm using McAfee Internet Security 9

      After having to reformat my computer several weeks ago, I'm slowly reinstalling all
      other software. I've been attempting for over 1 hour to install one of my favorite games.
      Apparently McAfee things the exe file for the game is a trojan and therefore is removing
      the game exe file upon installation. I am at my wits end trying to figure this out. I have tried to add the exe file to program permission but McAfee is deleting it without my approval. When I go to restore the file McAfee has determined it is lethal, as soon as I click "restore" McAfee in turns deletes it again. So my question is how to do I "outwit"
      the McAfee software? When I purchased McAfee to my knowledge anytime I installed software it always asked my about the program permissions. But since this update it's not.

      Why doesn't the McAfee software understand I am sitting at the computer, I am loading the software from a CD myself and I am giving myself permission to load this software
      vs Mcafee automatically making a decision to delete my exe file?

      Is there a way around this?

          It doesn't understand because it isn't human.

          First you will have to disable VirusScan temporarily in order to get the game to install.
          Double-click the taskbar icon to open Security Center.
          Click Advanced Menu (bottom left)
          Click Configure (left)
          Click Computer & Files (top left)
          You can disable VirusScan in the right-hand module and tell it for how long to stay that way.

          You would have to submit the files to Avert labs to be tested and it they email you back that it is a bad file, immediately respond to that email with a rebuttal and explain exactly what it is. Make sure the header includes the case ID #.

          When submitting samples via E-mail all samples must be packaged in a .ZIP file. When creating this .ZIP file, it is important to understand that the .ZIP can be no more than 3 megabytes in size and can contain no more than 30 files. Additionally, any .ZIP file created must be password-protected using the password "infected" (minus the ""). Failure to follow these guidelines will cause your submission to be rejected.
