IE needs to have a working connection to the Internet in order for McAfee to update.
Click 'Tools' Menu
Click 'Internet options'
Click the 'Advanced' tab
Click the 'Restore Advanced settings' button
Click the 'Reset...' button
Close and re-open your browser and see if the internet works...
Unfortunately, no luck. What else?
sorry to butt in...
but can you please try running mcafee virtual technican in my signature and post the session ID here... ?
I didn't get as far as a Session ID. When I click Run it goes through the motions and tries to open an I.E. window. Which is part of the problem. Since removing IE 8 Beta, it doesn't work anymore.
please try this...
1. open internet explorer
2. click on tools
3. choose internet options
4. click on the advanced tab
5. click on reset
6. close IE and reopen
7. use the default settings when IE prompts you to customize
8. retry running virtual technician in my signature...
please post the session ID...
Again, no luck. Some else recommended it early in this thread. But I tried it again to no prevail.
are we working on an XP operating system?
if it's xp please uninstall IE7... it will autoamtically go back to IE6 and then run this patch.
if it's vista please do the following:
run command prompt as administrator and then in the black window type these in:
retry running MVT.
Sorry but I can't find IE7 or any IE in the Add/Removes programs list.
what is the operating system?
did you already run the patch i mentioned below? or did you get errors when you ran the patch?
