does the error message appear at the mcafee security home page? can you verify where exactly the error message appears?
also, try running MVT from http://mvt.mcafee.com/mvt and post the session ID here...
also post here the computer's specs...
I ran the diagnostic tool earlier and its assesment was that all was normal.
The error message is on the home page, under email & IM
This is a 5 yr old pentium computer with XP and Office 2007
Does it say "McAfee Anti-Spam filtering content has not been updated for the last 7 days.Ignore"
I'm getting the same error, and it does say "McAfee Anti-Spam filtering content has not been updated for the last 7 days.Ignore"
Where do I go from here?
Hi, Ive run the tool, and it said it had resolved all issues. It then ran a search for any updates, but didnt find anything. Ive just had the pop up again saying my system isnt protected, it still says that the filtering content hasnt been updated for the last 7 days.
Did this machine have any other security application earlier?
Let me see if I can get a patch file.... I think I need to get to another machine for that... probably 2 hrs time from now?
my laptop is only 2 months old. McAfee came preloaded. i have a subscription until 2012, im running vista basic, if that helps any
Download the attached patch file
# Save the file to a location such as your Desktop or My Documents folder.
# Extract the contents for the zip file and save the data to:
# Double-click copymskupd.bat. ( inside that extracted folder)
# After the operation completes, restart your computer.
Let me know if this helps
