Did you uninstall the McAfee program through "Add/Remove Programs" in Windows "Control Panel" and then used the McAfee removal tool? See this article: How to uninstall or reinstall supported McAfee consumer products using the McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR.exe)
From which site did you re-download and nistalled the McAfee software? Was this the McAfee site or the Dell site?
How is your Windows version? Have you checked if it's up-to-date and has the latest patches and updates installed? Check here at the Microsoft Update website.
