if you are below the minimum requirements, the system usually runs slow..;)
also, try to check for conflicting programs with mcafee (i.e., other security programs)

How old is this machine/
what are the browsers you have and there version?
Is it a branded pc.... if yes what DELL ,Sony,HP,IBM ,Acer....etc......
My location is "The Netherlands".
My machine is 6 months old, it's a selfmade PC.
I'm using Internet Explorer 7.
I started to notice that XP was slow right after installing Internet Security Suite.
If I dissable all McAfee services, XP is very fast again.
When did you install McAfee?
