Please try the following steps:
1. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\McAfee\MBK
2. Delete the content of the folder
3. Re-boot the system.
Now, try to change the schedule and let us know if it works fine.
I did as Abin J John said and deleted the contents of the folder and rebooted, but I still get the warning, "Unable to change the frequency for full archive. Restart McAftee Data Backup to continue." All I want to do is make it happen at night (11 PM) instead of the beginning of the day (9:00 AM), when it slows down my work.
Same issue here. Tried the solution to no avail. BTW, the path for Vista machine is different. Believe it to be...
Mine is a Dell, and my McAfee came from Comcast.
Comcast version is very old they give 8.1 to there customer's... we are currently running 9.3
if its ok with you could you see if installation of a Trial pack from McAfee helps?
it will be fully functional for 30 days.. this will get you the latest version. If this fixes the problem then maybe you could ping comcast and ask when the new version would be released from them.
To install the new pack..
run this Removal tool and then reboot the machine and then visit this page and signup for a trial version of McAfee Total Protection / Internet Security Suite ( its similir to the comcast version but is latest)
I have tried all manner of advice on this problem and nothing works. Since I can't fix it, perhaps someone can tell me how to disable McAfee data backup so this it doesn't impact performance.
