In the absence of an "Off" button, you can tell it to backup zero files.....
You can uninstall it, as it's a seperate program/component. Just go to Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs (Programs/Uninstall a Program in Vista) -> select McAfee SecurityCenter -> click Change / Remove -> tick McAfee DataBackup, and click Next/Uninstall.
But if you wish to keep data backup for use but do not want it to Auto run at Startup then follow below steps:
1> Type "msconfig" in Start-> Run Area and hit Enter
2> System Config Utility will open up.
3> Now select Startup Tab and "Uncheck" McAfeeDataBackup from startup item.
4> Now press Apply and OK and restart your system.
This will never autorun Data Backup at windows startup. It will be launched only when you wish to Launch Data Backup manually from MSC.
that did the job.
Glad it helped.
