do you really mean soft (ie virtual) or do you mean physical (hard) tokens?
Virtual ones..there is a software from RSA where you can generate virtual codes that expires every minute I think..
Last time I asked SafeBoot (McAfee) it wasn't possible.
it's possible, but it would be really really insecure - think about it - there's no pre-boot network connection so the code could not be securely validated, and even if there was, you'd have to get online before you could login.
the only reason those tokens work is because you're authenticating against a remote server. Once you remove the security of the separation, they are pretty worthless cryptographically.
