HDLP Local Folder - Definition Purpose

I am looking for an explanation as to what the Local Folder (User profile) built-in definition is used for and how its configured to work? Also, is there a way in DLP to ignore a directory from interrogation (i.e. not tied to an application)?

If you click “view”, it’ll tell you what is included (C:\users\%username%). Typically, when performing a hostscan with HDLP, you’d want to scan this folder as this is where users would be downloading files by default.

You can also choose which paths to “include” or “exclude” as well as any filters to apply to data types (i.e. ignoring certain file extensions, file sizes, etc).
