is it a pc or server?
is the machine firewalled?
have you checked that that port is not in use by something else?
have you tried stopping and starting the framework service?
is the machine hung in a shutdown cycle?
it is a pc. os is vista. port is not used by any other application. i can not see any client's log by the way.
so under the macfee agent policy logging options what boxes do you have ticked?
what port are you trying to use? have you cheked it is the same one as in
Agent wake-up communication port:
so you are doing eg:
Have you unchecked "accept connections only from ePO-Server"?
thats on the mcafee agent policies general tab happy
The other thing you can do to better isolate the problem is do a unc connection to the machine and then open up the log file. If you did the default install the log file should be located at "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\McAfee\Common Framework\Db" and should be named "agent_machinename.xml". Atleast this way you can look at the log file and try and figure out where the problem is.
It's working. I didn't realize that. sorry :o
