I believe if you change the name and IP you'll have to reinstall the agent on the computers. Or at least run the framepkg.exe with /siteinfo=<sitelist.xml from new server>.
Here's a good TID on the process: https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB51438&actp=search&search id=1243984347896
I have a similar problem. Unfortunately, the FramePkg.exe on the new server still retains the old IP adress in its config (SiteList.xml). How can I get ePO to generate a new FramePkg.exe ?
which epo version do you want to generate a new framepkg on?
on 3.6.1 its from the main page after you log into epo click on epo server on left then choose the agent installation package creation wizard
on epo 4
how to add systems
create and download agent installation package
have you checked the ip entry in the server.ini in the server epo install? does it still point to the old one? if you have altered it have you restrated all the services since then?
(I believe this thread belongs to the "Management Solutions (ePo & Protection Pilot)" forum rather than the "General Corporate" one.)
Thanks a lot Tony, that was certainly what I was looking for. We had restarted the server - had to shut it down as it moved (physically as well) from the Test DMZ into the Production one - but I'm not sure if we had restarted the services after fixing the IP...
I did change various instances of the SiteList.xml file but I hadn't changed the Server.ini file. I just did and restarted the server and it seems to work.
I was beginning to think the only way to generate a new Agent Package would be to install a new patch or version...
Thanks a lot
Glad its sorted I have also moved this to the epo thread with my MOD head on
