how to change time on McAfee Agent Repository

Jump to solution

Hi All,

Is there anyway that the timing on the repository on how devices pick up automatic updates

Endpoint Security 10.6.0.542

Endpoint Threat Prevention 10.6.0.672

Currently on the EPO server under assigned policies under product "McAfee Agent" there is a repository setting which gets the .dat updates for both VSE and Endpoint Threat prevention from

1) EPO server and 2) McAfee Http website

I have checked PackageManager_Activity.log and it looks like the agent / ENS trys to update the .dat file every 4 hours (correct me if i am misinterpreting the logs or using the wrong logs .. trying to teach myself more about McAfee and EPO and learning as I go)

Is there a way to change this to update between 1) a certain timeframe or 2) update every 24 hours?

Ok, in epo for the ens common policy, options, show advanced.  Under the default client update, that is enabled by default and it runs every 4 hours.  If you disable that, be sure you have a configured update task set up in the epo assigned client tasks.

That is controlled by your client task assignments in epo for the updates.  In the system tree, go to assigned client tasks and edit assignment for the one that you have assigned that is running every 4 hours.

Hi Cdinet,

I have checked under the client tasks and cant see any assignment that is scheduled to run every 4 hours for McAfee agent or Threat Prevention

Is there anywhere else that this could possibly be set?
