ePO4.5 clients dont update from the repository

I have installed ePO4.5 and have configured a UNC Distributed Repository. When I deploy an agent to client and I install the VS8.7i at the client, the client fails to update from the repository. It gives this log

9/1/2010 5:06:02 PM NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Starting task: AutoUpdate
9/1/2010 5:06:08 PM NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Checking update packages from repository ePO_LLBDC3.
9/1/2010 5:06:08 PM NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Initializing update...
9/1/2010 5:06:08 PM NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Verifying catalog.z.
9/1/2010 5:06:09 PM NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Extracting catalog.z.
9/1/2010 5:06:09 PM NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Loading update configuration from: catalog.xml
9/1/2010 5:06:10 PM NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM These updates will be applied if they are in the repository:  Engine, DAT, VSCANCEU1000, EXTRADAT1000, BOCVSE__1000, VIRUSCAN8700.
9/1/2010 5:06:10 PM NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM The following packages were not in the repository:  Engine, DAT, VSCANCEU1000, EXTRADAT1000, BOCVSE__1000, VIRUSCAN8700.
9/1/2010 5:06:10 PM NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Update Finished

What can be the solution?

Funflex

Re: ePO4.5 clients dont update from the repository

From the log posted, it appears that there is no content in the repository. Forgive the question, but have you run a pull task and a replication task? These are not configured by default...

Re: ePO4.5 clients dont update from the repository

I run a Master Repository pull task for

      1. McAfeeHttp and it gave me this error "Site status not found, repository may be empty ". No packages found.

      2. McAfeeFtp and gave me this error "Failed to download site status file ". No packages found.

I configured a Distributed Repository with the following attributes:

          Name:     EPOServer

          Type:      Http

          Location: update.nai.com

          Port:       80

          Replication UNC path: \\LLMW\McAfee Utilities\Updates

I run a replication task and it completed successfully but when I pull task, it gives me the same errors.

Funflex

Re: ePO4.5 clients dont update from the repository

By the sound of it your ePO server cannot reach the McAfee download sites... if you are using a proxy server check that the proxy settings are correctly configured in ePO. Otherwise, run a pull task and then post the epoapsrv log here and we can have a look.

Re: ePO4.5 clients dont update from the repository

The epoapsvr log is in the DB\Logs folder, below the folder where ePO is installed... run the pull task again and then post the file, if possible.

If it's not there then I'd suggest opening a case with support as it means something more serious is wrong.

Looks like you may have a problem with the proxy configuration in ePO: I would check that this is correct before anything else.

Re: ePO4.5 clients dont update from the repository

What should I do then? Is it because I am running ePO 3.6.1 in parallel on another server that uses the same proxy configurations?

Help me please,
