You have to install the Encryption Agent, followed by the Encryption Client.  Finally, after an LDAP Sync and a a couple of Agent Wakeups, the drives will start encryption.

Your endpoint will be in "Unmmanaged" state until the Encryption Agent and Client are installed.  When they are, it will be "Inactive" until the LDAP Sync and Agent wakeups have finished and started the encryption process.

"Unmanaged" means there is no management agent/drive encryption agent installed on the endpoint, whereas "Inactive" means that the drive(s) on the endpoint are not encrypting/ed.
