We changed the Published IP Address of our epo. now our external workstation/node cant communicate with our epo server.
how can we restore the connection back.
also we can use the old published ip address but only for a week, how can we change the published ip without reinstalling the agents
Thank you in advance,
The agent uses either the last known IP address, DNS name, or NetBIOS name of the ePO server. If you change any one of these, ensure that the agents have a way to locate the server. The easiest way to do this is to retain the existing DNS record and change it to point to the new IP address of the ePO server. After the agent is able to successfully connect to the ePO server, it downloads an updated SiteList.xml with the current information.
First check the siteinfo.ini file on the epo server has the new IP in it, this should have been rebuilt after you restarted the epo services following the ip change.
I added the published DNS in the epo config. but how can i updated the nodes without redeploying the mcafee agent?
in our current setup, we only user 1 server for the application, DB and agent handler. also we dont have AD.
is there away to update nodes/workstation without manually deploying the mcafee agent to those units?
