ePO Upgrade created a new Events database

Jump to solution
Upgraded from ePO 5.9.1 to ePO 5.10.0 with update 4 the other day. During the process I had to have my SQL DBA disable high availability of the database (required for the update to work). Now that the upgrade is complete, she is re-enabling high availability and notices a new database for Events. Two Questions: 1- What is this database for? 2- Does this new Events database need to be high availability or no?

The events database is new with 5.10 and yes, it would also need to be in high availability.  The events are now stored in that separate database and uses a synonym in main db to use the second db.  So all queries, basically, still go through the main epo database, but the event data is pulled from the event db.  You don't query the event db directly when creating queries in epo.

Don't forget also to add this new database to the McAfee epo db maintenance plan
