ePO 4.6 Macs show as non-compliant

Jump to solution

We recently upgraded to ePO 4.6 but are having an issue with all of our Macs as showing non-compliant. This is occurring with both Snow Leopard 10.6 machines as well as Lion 10.7 machines. All are running the 4.6 agent. They show up in the console just fine and deployment tasks assigned to them function normally. The Anti-virus on them updates normally as well.

Anyone have ideas on what we could look at or what the issue could be?

Thanks,

-MRCUR

Hi mrcur, if you're using the "McAfee Agent and VirusScan Enterprise (for Windows) Compliance Summary" then hem is right and no Mac will show as compliant.

Tou can try with the attached report as it should work with VirusScan for Mac 9.0 and upper versions

Hi mrcur, did you also check VirusScan for Mac extensions into your repository? If not then your computers will always show as non-compliant

Hi,

Yes, the extensions have been checked in. Is there a place where we can check to be sure they've registered?

Thanks,

Are you using VirusScan for Mac 9.0 or version 9.1?

If you go under Menu->Software->Extensions you should see a McAfee Security for Mac entry with all the installed extensions on the right

I think that the query is for Windows machines so non-windows machines will show non-complaint.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

We're using both 9.0 and 9.1, but specifically 9.1 on our test Mac. We checked and all of the Mac extensions are listed. We will try checking in the extensions again just to be sure.

The query we have is not limited to any OS as far as wel can tell. When we look at the query, it is the Macs which are shown as non-compliant.

Hi,

That query works and shows what we expected to be complaint to be compliant. Is it possible to create a combined query for Macs and Windows machines in one pie chart? It looks like it would be possible if in the criteria of a report you can be an OR for the product, but we can't find if that's possible.

Thanks again,

Unfortunately you won't be able to show compliant windows and mac systems in the same report as you cannot use the OR option instead of AND.

So you'll have to use a compliance report for windows and another one for Mac

Okay, thanks for the info. We'll just use two compiance views then. Thanks again for the Mac query.
