agents turn to superagents

Hope you guys can help me with this one. I am quite confused myself why this is happening.

Agents seem to be changing to Superagents on our EPO although policy not set to convert to Superagents. I have checked all policies and they are all correct. See screenshot below when I modify Agent General Policy on single system.

Anybody got an idea why this is happening? Only way to solve it is to delete system from EPO and tick remove agent on next communication. I do not want to delete systems from EPO all the time to solve this.

Re: agents turn to superagents

Hi stickman,

I had faced the same issue on ePO5.1.0

Please follow this to get it fixed, (Delete all superagent systems before beginning this process)

     1. Stop all ePO related services on server

     2. And rename these two DLL's as .bak

      naimserv.dll
        naimserv.dll.sig

     3. Please download and replace DLL from the below link

      https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB83192

     4. Please Start the services and check

Thanks,

Petchi S

Re: agents turn to superagents

Thank you Petchi.

It is quite risky to delete all superagents. If I only delete the ones thats not suppose to be there and replace the DLL would it still work?

Re: agents turn to superagents

Yes, You have to delete only agent turned superagents host.

It should work

Re: agents turn to superagents

Note that this is proof of concept code, you'll want to upgrade to 5.1.2 or higher.

Hello Parent,

I don't understand your statement, What do you mean Proof of concept code?

Thanks,

Re: agents turn to superagents

That's the terminology that McAfee uses in the knowledge base article... euphemism for "not fully tested", "beta". It is a hotfix, not a full release.

I did simple update to 5.1.2 when I had the same issue
