XP SP2 Client receiving McAfee Common Framework ffffffffdf @ 3 error

XP SP2, EPO agent 3.6.1, VSE 8.7i receiving the following error when attempting update:

McAfee AutoUpdate Properties - AutoUpdate
Failed to initialize Common Updater subsystem. Make sure the McAfee Framework Service is running.
McAfee Common Framework returned error ffffffffdf @ 3.

The service is running. I have removed & reinstalled 2x and also cleaned the registry but error still happens on this client machine. Disk space is not an issue.

Thanks for any advice on handling this issue.

Not ready to deploy 4.0 yet. Using EPO 3.6.1 and also 3.6.1 agents.

Yes it is. I have over 2000 machines on 8.7 and EPO 3.6.1.

If I'm not wrong that's due to a problem with OLE32.DLL because it has been unregistered (usually when uninstalling Nero)

Try registering it again with this:
Regsvr32.exe %Windir%\System32\Ole32.dll

I will try this. Thanks for the advice.
