I have installed the ePO agent 4.0 onto my Windows 2008 server, On the ePO server, I have the option checked (Show tray icon) and this works for the 2003 servers and all the clients, however I do not see it on the 2008 servers.
The agent is installed under Programs and Features, I would like to see the agent on the system tray like the other servers, anyone run into this issue?
Thanks,
Evan,
I would check 2 things:
1. Make sure the McTray.exe process is running, if not you can manually execute it.
2. Make sure you are in the console session (Session ID 0) if you are RDPing into the system. The tray icon doesn't show in other sessions.
To add to what Greg said, if you are using Windows 2008 on Itanium, the icon does not appear - documented in KB67031
McAfee has had some reports of this issue occuring only on 2008 servers with MA 4.5. And this issue is slated to be fix in patch 1 of MA 4.5, due out next year.
I found if you run cmdagent /s the icon shows up, which is what the KB stated as well.
Thanks for all the support,
